Chapter 2: Arithmetic and Area
This chapter, students will focus on:
-Representation (which was started in chapter 1) -Ways to display and understand data -Investigating area and how to measure it -Exploring the relationship between area and perimeter -Visualizing multiplication in new ways -Calculating products efficiently In this chapter, students will learn how to: -Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of various graphical representations of data -Define and measure the area of rectangles and shapes that can be broken into rectangles -Use a generic rectangle to multiply, both on paper and mentally -Find the greatest common factor of selected numbers Notebook Pages: TBD |
